Our Program Prerequisites

Prerequisites



Prerequisites: In order to enter the study of Osteopathic Manual Practice, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
  • Holders of a university degree in medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, sports and athletic therapy, chiropractic, physical therapist, veterinary medicine, and midwifery, directly access the program of study in Osteopathic Manual Practice.
  • Holders of a university science degree (BSc) in kinesiology, medical sciences, biochemistry, biology or microbiology must complete our online preadmission course prior to being accepted into the regular program.
  • Provincially Registered Massage Therapists (RMT - 2200 hours) with a university degree, directly access the program of study in Osteopathic Manual Practice. RMT’s without a university degree must complete the online preadmission program.
  • Acupuncturists must be a qualified graduate from a recognized full-time program of at least 3 years, totaling 1900 minimum classroom and clinical hours in the study of Acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition to this, the graduate must be an active member of the Nova Scotia Association of Acupuncturists (NSAA). Applicants must complete our online preadmission course prior to being accepted into the regular program.
  • International candidates holding a recognized degree or diploma are accepted into the program, as outlined above.
